The Cure Ate Her

Performed by Molly McLean

Saturday, August 29

Doors 7:30 | Show 8PM

Tickets $20-40

Step into the absurd world of Molly McLean’s art museum as she gives you an idiotic, ahistorical tour.

McLean, a character and standup performer, acts as an enthusiastic curator, taking the audience through ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary art. The character fails to teach anyone anything, though she may try. The curator’s attitude is a mix of the confident idiocy of Philomena Cunk and the goofy slapstick of Mr. Bean.

Molly McLean is a comedy writer and performer who lives in Los Angeles. She debuts new solo characters every month at Upright Citizens Brigade. McLean performs improv with her group Beautiful Gowns. She performs standup and has a weekly open mic. Her theater group, Being Time, performs randomly iconic plays, like a satire of Strindberg’s The Father, and iconically random plays, like their take on a Mr. Beast video. She directed Emily Maverick’s solo show Slürt for the 2024 Spaghetti Festival and is debuting a new piece at the same festival in the summer of 2026, Karaoke Night. She made a short film, Clown Hoedown, about the evils of the Los Angeles clown scene.

She also posts videos to her Instagram account, @mollmclea.
