Sound Clown Laboratory

with Luz Gaxiola

August 9

10am-5pm

Make some noise at Sound Clown Laboratory! This workshop is dedicated to experimenting with patterns and principles of musical clowning. Bring your instruments and noisemakers for a day of clowning through sound, rhythmic play, melody, and musicality.

Topics include:

Classic gags and schtick in comedic musical performances

Voice and physicality

Coordinating sound with visual onstage action

Finding music in unexpected moments

This class is ideal for people with some experience with clowning and playing musical instruments.

If you don’t play an instrument you are welcome to take the class with a focus on singing.

If you are a musician curious about clowning it’s a good idea to take at least one general clown class beforehand. (Consider signing up for the Clown Crash Course the previous day to get a foundation in the basics of clowning - you can attend both for $400! Check the confirmation email of your first purchase for the discount code!)
