Let Them Eat Melon
November 13 @ 8PM
Doors 30 min before Showtime
Tickets $20-40
Created & Performed by pomPom Pirate and Cornbread Jim
Original Music by Ow Wow Meow
A puppet show inside a watermelon, inside a stomach, inside of an anti folk music show, exploring how microecosystems and movements for bodily and health autonomy connect broadly to fighting colonialism inside and out.
The work looks at themes of health autonomy, death and decay as essential aspects of life, collective liberation, and animism. In addition to making accessible community art, cornbread and pompom do extensive community work in the areas of mutual aid, prisoner support, and environmental advocacy.
“...you leave their show looking a little crazy but feeling supercharged for your next creative project.”
“A precious folk punk contribution with an unmatched combination of whimsy and earnestness.”
“If you’re missing this show, you’re missing the best thing since vaporized nicotine and vacuum seals.”
