Don your cuffs and armor- we’re headed to battle!
Build up your actor’s toolbox- in this 3 hour intensive, certified fight coordinator Jamin Jollo leads a journey of storytelling through combat. In this class, you’ll learn to beat up your peers- safely!- using professionally recognized combat techniques with skills and language allowing you to develop your own fight scenes. The class begins with unarmed combat and leads into basic training in medieval broadsword. No experience required, just a sense of curiosity and eagerness to work safely and respectfully with scene partners.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jamin Jollo is an actor, director, and technician specializing in Mime, Clown, Shakespeare, and Stage Combat. Performances and teaching credentials include The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Marin Shakespeare Company, Shotgun Players, 6th Street Playhouse, The Curtain Theatre, Church of Clown, Southern Oregon University, Katia & Co., and more. Jamin is the lead teaching artist for Shakespearience, an acting and stage combat residency program for Bay Area schools. He leads acting and stage combat workshops in classrooms across the Bay, focusing on physical acting work inspired by artists like James Donlon, U. Jonathan Toppo, Dan Griffiths, Scott Kaiser, James Jesse Peck, and Patrick Russel.
